Plan your play in 3NT after 2 is led

Your initial count of winners is just 4 i.e. 4 aces,

Where are you going to get the extra tricks to make this contract?

You need to obtain them from that lovely long diamond suit in your dummy.

What is the most important card in dummy? Yes its the Club Ace which will be your entry to th Dummy.

Why do we need to play the Diamonds carefully? We do not want to get blocked.

Id there anything we can learn from the lead of the 2? Yes the lead has been made from e four card suit.

Some people just hold up for the sake of it when it's no necessary and here is an example of that since the two defenders will not make more than 3 tricks in this suit. We can afford one Diamond loser and weill will still be OK and make our contract.

With all this in mind we take the first trick and immediately okay the Diamond Ace followed by the Queen (NB remember we do not want to block the Diamond suit.

East takes three more Spades before exiting with a Heart. No Heart finesse here - it is not necessary. We take the Heart Ace and cash all the winning Diamonds in dummy and then we can cash the Club Ace which is now our 9th trick.

We made 3 Aces and 6 established Diamonds never putting or contract in danger. (not often you can say you made 6 tricks from the dummy with only 5 honour points)
