This hand from OK Bridge shows some very bizarre bidding. I was sitting North and my partner whose bidding was somewhat bizarre played the hand to perfection.

After the lead you now have 7 winners 2 Hearts,2 Diamonds and 3 Clubs.

Therefore you will need to generate 5 more.

From the bidding it appears that East has 4 spades- let's hope that he hasn't got the ♠10 (so that your ♠8 could be a finesse late in the hand against East). If this is the case you will be able to make 3 trump tricks "eventually". How do we now generate the other two. If you can trump two Diamonds this will just about bring your total to 12 and you might make this impossible contract.

After winning the first trick beating East's ♦King with your Ace, you should unblock the ♥Ace and then trump a Diamond (no hurry to play that Queen yet). Now play the ♠Jack and when East plays low you play low and West follows with the ♠10. Now cash the ♥King chucking a low Diamond. Then return to hand with a top club in order to trump a diamond. Now play dummy's last trump and East takes his Ace before exiting with a club which you win in hand hoping that East started life with three clubs. Cash you winning Diamond Queen. You can now go over to dummy's carefully preserved Club King.

Due to your very careful play although you do not have a trump in dummy you merely play one of your two remaining Cards in dummy and finesse East's Q6 of trumps with you sitting over him with your K8 of trumps for a magnificently played hand
