On this hand I quite stupidly led the ♣8 and declarer easily wrapped up 10 tricks. by way of 2 clubs and 8 Diamonds.
My charming partner commented that I was a one armed army- he was right. Let’s now replay. South has twice been happy to bid NT over the Club bids and is not at all afraid of the 4 level. Therefore we must lead and have a look. The only way we can do that is to lead the Spade Ace and see what is going on.
After this lead partner encourages and we now take the first 6 tricks- 4 Spades and 2 Hearts or maybe only 3 Spades and 2 Hearts if partner encourages the first trick with the Spade King.
