Out of the Blue partner comes in with a Double. Without the Double you might have led the unbid suit or possibly your singleton looking for a ruff. Now that partner has made this “Lightner Double” he is telling you to make an unusual lead, generally dummy’s first bid suit. Here you duly obey and lead a Heart. Because of this lead and continuation of this suit the defence will realize four tricks from two top Hearts, the Spade Ace, and a trump promotion because partner will play a third round of Hearts after cashing his top three Major suit  winners. If declarer ruffs low you win with your Ten and if declarer trumps high then partner’s Queen is promoted.
