On our hand this week the unfriendly opponents lead a singleton and immediately get a ruff.
Your task now is to try and keep your trump losers to just one more (ie the Ace)- you do not have any other losers and therefore need to play the trump suit in an unusual way.
After winning the Diamond Ace you must play a trump off the table and PLAY LOW from hand and hope West started off with a Doubleton Ace and hope that his Ace now falls on air. The bidding has shown East to hold a weak Two in Spades so East should not hold the Heart Ace or he would have too much for his original weak two.
When you play low from hand, West does, indeed, have only the Ace left and very shortly you will be able to draw East’s last trump, the Queen and bring home your contract winning 5 trumps, 2 Spades, 1 Diamond and 3 Clubs.
