Our aim on this hand is to try and make as many as 12 tricks if we can keep count of all West's cards.

West lead ♣3 so we immediately know that the club suit is breaking 4:4 in the opponents' hands. How do we know this? because we have the ♣2 so West'e lead must mean he has led 4th one down in his longest suit and we can see just one in dummy, we have 4 in our hand so East must have 4 too and it seems that the remaining Spade  cards must all be split evenly in the opponents hands which is unusual when we are so unbalanced.

Initially we have 7 winners- 1 Spade, 1 Heart, 3 Diamonds and 2 clubs.

Our best bet therefore must be to play off our diamonds and see what West plays.

We win first trick with the Ace and now turn our attention to the diamonds

The diamonds do in fact break kindly and we will play 3 more Diamonds throwing away all dummy's Hearts. West discards 3 Hearts and a club.

At trick 8 now play Ace and another spade . West wins and is now endplayed. He exits with a club and you chuck a Spade from table and then you can cash your winning Club King and claim the last two tricks with dummy's Spade Queen and Heart Ace.

(NB Had west exited with a Spade instead I hope we would have been brave enough to insert dummy's 10)

You eventually made 3 Clubs, 6 Diamonds 1 Heart and 2 spades for a very well played hand against poor West.

(Perhaps South might think of slamming when partner has opened but he didn't here, probably thinking the hands were misfittiing)
