Most of the time when you have lots of trumps- and in the scheme of things having 4 trumps here, is a lot of trumps- you lead from your long suit hoping declarer will lose control of the trump suit but as you only have 7 points, partner is marked with points too and you could get a ruff if you lead shortage so you decide to lead from top of your doubleton Diamond.
Declarer wins the first trick and plays a Heart which you let go around to partner’s King at trick Three.
Partner of course follows you defence and plays a second Diamond but declarer perseveres with trumps.
In order to get your ruff you will need to know where partner’s entry is, so you decide to duck this Heart so that when declarer plays another trump you can await partner’s attitude signal.
On the third round of trumps partner discards the §5 encouraging you to play a club.
You now take this third round of trumps and duly switch to a club.
Partner wins with the Ace and now gives you a Diamond which you can now at long last trump.
You have made 2 trumps, 1 Club and 1 ruff to defeat the contract by one.
Without waiting for your partner’s attitude signal you would not know which Black Ace your partner held.
