In order to make the best of a bad situation you will need to make as many club tricks as possible.
After winning the first trick, you must go after the clubs BUT they are blocked. So on the second round of clubs when the Queen appears you must duck so that you can later play a Club over to dummy’s winning King and enjoy four tricks from this suit. After winning the Club Queen. The opposition cash their Spades and then switch to Diamonds. You take the Ace, cash four winning clubs and should be happy going just one off.
