When you see dummy you must realise that
declarer has made a pre-emptive bid and should have no values outside his Hearts
suit. So you can count declarer making 7 Hearts , 2 Clubs in dummy needing one
more trick declarer is going to try and ruff a losing Spade in dummy. To
counteract this you will need to play a trump straight away. Declarer wins the
trick and plays a second Spade which you win, and the Spades are blocked.
You must now find a away to partner’s
hand so he can play another trump, removing dummy’s last trump . You have to
play partner for the Diamond King and underlead your Ace. Partner does indeed
have the King and following your defence plays a second trump. Now barring the
shouting, you will come to 4 defensive tricks and declarer will go one down. You
will eventually get Three Spades and 1 Diamond. NB Partner should have bid 4ª
over 4©
