Once West has supported spades belatedly it looks like West has a spade honour if not two.

Assuming West has Spade king and maybe Jack the hand now becomes OPEN BOOK as West cannot have any more important cards or he would have bid over the 1NT immediately. Therefore, there is no point in taking the Diamond finesse as West cannot have the Diamond King. So let's hope East's Diamond King is a doubleton and that the bridge gods are on our side.

So after taking the first trick- no point in holding up you lay down the Diamond Ace pleased to see the fall of the King from East. Since it cannot be anything other than a singleton West is marked with the three remaining Diamonds and you must now carefully finesse West's Ten so when west plays low on the second Diamond remember to play the ♦9.

You can now cash the remaining Diamonds before taking the marked club finesse and make your contract

You make 1 Spade, 1 Heart, 6 Diamonds and 2 clubs for an excellent score (Playing Imps where overtricks are not important you might not take the club finesse and possibly put your contract in danger just in case West had that Black King after all.
