Will you play too quickly at trick 1 and put all your
eggs in the finessing basket or will you think again ? If you take the finesse and it loses, East will play
back a Club and give partner an immediate Ruff and you quickly go one off. Do
you need the Club finesse ? No you don’t - you can afford one club loser and the
third round of clubs will take care of your Spade loser. So without much ado you go up with dummy’s Ace, Draw
trumps and then play another club. East as expected wins his King and now the
Spade loser can be despatched on the established Club 10. You will make 2 Clubs, 6 Diamonds 1 Spade, 1 Heart and 2
Heart ruffs in dummy, the short hand.
