1. Unassuming Cue Bid showing good heart raise
I was somewhat surprised to be playing this against a finesse freak. After drawing trumps he finessed the Diamonds Jack and eventually managed to go one off when he should have made 12 UGH
Let's start again.
Once one draws trumps its good to get another suit going. Dummy's' spades look promising and your own hand's Diamonds look promising. Diamonds seem to be slightly more promising especially after the Spade switch by East at trick 2.
As long as diamonds are no worse than 4:2 one can set up the 5th diamond.
With all this in mind after trumps have been drawn in 2 rounds, play diamonds next ruffing the 3rd Diamond in dummy. The bridge gods are with you and the suit breaks 3:3.
You can now in fact claim the remaining tricks and you will make 12 tricks losing just trick 1 (club Ace)
You make 4 trumps, 2 Diamonds, 1 spade and 1 club,1 Diamond ruff, 1 Spade ruff, 2 established Diamonds .
