Lead ♣Q

Can you take advantage of the friendly lead, after your partner very optimistically rasei your 3♥ bid to 4♥?

The lead is unlikely to be a singleton and without doubt leading Doubleton Queens are always bad leads as they tend to help declarer out more than the defending side. So it looks lkie the Club Queen must be a lead from QJ9, With this in mind, now while it is fresh on your mind finesse the remaining A10 in dummy which wins and now quickly despatch the Spae loser from hand.

Now play a Heart from dummy when the king appears this seems to suggest that West must now have two winning Hearts with his Q10 sitting over your Jack. You play a second heart and your suspicions materialize. West gets off lead with a spade which you are now able to ruff. You are now in the correct to take the Diamond finesse hoping that either both King and Queen are split or West has them both (75% chance here) East wins with the Queen and plays another Spade. You now finesse west for the missing Diamond King and happily he turns up with the King and your Jack in dummy wins the trick

You now make 3 Clubs, 5 Hearts, and 2 Diamonds losing two trumps and 1 Diamond.

(NB you could play one top Heart at trick 2 and then finesse the clubs but sometimes it is good to take that Club finesse while it is fresh on your mind L
