This can only be a SUIT PREFERENCE SIGNAL telling you to switch to the lower of the two remaining suits excluding trumps. So with Hearts as trumps partner is telling you to switch to Diamonds the lower of the two remaining suits (between Diamonds and Spades).

Even without this suit preference you might also switch to Diamonds because you can see the Spade Ace in dummy .

Following partner’s defence you now play a low Diamond and are very pleased to see partner play the Ace. He now plays one back finessing “poor” declarer’s Queen and you have quickly taken 3 Diamond tricks . You will also realize the Ace of trumps bringing your trick tally to 5 holding the contract. Without the Diamond switch, declarer might be able dump two diamonds form dummy before touching trumps and hold his losers to just four.
