On our hand this week with our 65 distribution we keep the bidding simple and overcall 2¨ and eventually we are allowed to play in 4¨

Playing Match point pairs we now need to make as many tricks as possible.

After ruffing the second spade we now need to draw trumps. We cash the Diamond Ace and then play a low one (to finesse or not to finesse) Since East opened 1NT there is good chance that he has the missing Queen but when he follows suit to the second round of Diamonds we draw a deep breath and decide to play fro the drop relieved to see West follow with the last Diamond, the Queen.

We now need to get back to dummy to do the Club finesse. The best way back to dummy is via the Ace of Hearts. We now play the Queen delighted to see East cover. We now return to the promoted Club Nine, ruff either a Spade or Heart to get back to hand to play off all the Minor suit winners.

We now make 12 tricks from 1 Heart, 6 Diamonds and 5 Clubs. Pity we weren’t in Game but we beat all the players in 3¨ or 4¨ who only make 11 tricks.
