Although North has a Stayman response he decides to go for the jugular and bid 3NT which may score better than Game I a Major here.

After winning trick two with the ©J you play a Spade back to your KQ finding the Spades 5 :1 also discovering West’s longest suit is Spades but had not  led one. He must have made a short suit lead looking to find partner with values to defeat the contract.

 You can now probably place East with the Club King and decide taking a Club finesse at this stage .would be futile. So after cashing  dummy’s winning Spade you turn your attention to Diamonds. When the Diamonds break 3:3 you now have 12 tricks by way of 4 Spades (finessing West for the Jack)  3 Hearts, 4 Diamonds and 1 Club.

 NB East should have worked out West has made a short suit lead and played the Heart Ten or Eight  at trick one and then declarer will not make 3 hearts tricks and will be held to 11 tricks.
