At trick 1 you need to play ♦7 to say you want the higher of the two remaining suits i.e. a Heart switch.

When there is a singleton in dummy at trick one it is 3rd player's duty to make a suit preference signal like this ♦7.

West duly switches to ♥8 and you now quickly take 3 heart tricks. Later you will make your ♠Queen and the contract will go 2 down.

Even without the suit preference signal West is likely to switch to ♥Queen as he can see no future in second Diamond or a club, with AK showing in dummy.
