This hand comes from Ok Bridge and to say the least the bidding was very bizarre but the play is important.
After holding up the spades until the third round you must now keep West off lead and rely on the Hearts to break favourably.
After winning the third round of Spades you finesse Diamonds which loses to East the safe hand.
East gets off lead with a Club which you win in hand to take a heart finesse. Covering West’s contribution of the Ten with the King. You now come back to hand with a Diamond to finesse the Hearts through West again. Whne West plays low you insert dummy’s 9 which loses to the Jack.
When the hearts now divide you are home
You have kept West off lead and have lost only two spades, 1 Heart and 1 Diamond and have brought home your contract making
1 Spade, 3 Hearts, 3 Diamonds and 2 clubs.
