When I played this hand originally I fatally misplayed it and went one off OH DEAR :)

Initially, I had 5 winners-3 top Spades, and 2 more Aces. If the spades break kindly I would have 2 more and if the clubs broke kindly I would have 3 more bringing my total to 10. So what did I do wrong. I mismanaged the most important card in dummy which was ?? YES the Club ace, for my entry.

I can afford 2 Diamond losers and 1 Club and I will be ok.

With all this in mind now let's replay it correctly.

After winning the first trick in hand, play two top trumps discovering the bad news.

Enter dummy with that precious Club Ace and finesse East's Jack of trumps. Now let hope the clubs break or East has a singleton Honour, When you play the Ace no honour appears now play a second club delighted to see the club suit breaking 2:2.

Ruff their Heart continuation and cash out the remaining clubs being careful to overtake the ♣7 with your ♣9 to be in the correct hand to enjoy the 10th trick.

You now make 5 spades, 1 Heart and 4 clubs with this more careful play.
