When partner plays the 4 it really can only be a singleton- Partner cannot have the Ace otherwise he would not underlead and Ace suit so declarer is marked with the Ace and if partner had a doubleton or rubbishy three card suit surely he would have led a higher card the this4 so it has to be a singleton.
You have one trick with the Ace and a second Diamond trick. If partner has control of the trump suit then you might also be able to give partner a Diamond ruff.
Declarer takes the first trick and enter dummy with the Herat Ace in order to take the Spade finesse. You cover dummy's Jack and declarer now wins with the Ace and plays a second trump which partner wins with the King (hurrah for partner having the King) but don't get too comfortable- You MUST NOW SIGNAL and drop the §9 to show that's where your entry is. Partner will play a club to your Ace. You will cash the Diamond and still be able to give partner a Diamond ruff as partner still has another Spade. Well defended as you get your 4 defensive tricks- 1 Club, 1 Spade 1 Diamond and 1 Diamond ruffed.
