My esteemed partner. Peter Nicholls, played this had to perfection and got a joint top for making 8 tricks.

After winning the first trick he firstly set about establishing spades leading a low spade towards dummy's Queen. West ducked but took the second spade and played a low spade back. won by the 10.

Having setup the Spades there was no hurry to cash them and he now turned his attention to diamonds playing the ten from hand.

West won and now cashed his two winning clubs before exiting with a heart. Peter now played a second Diamond up to the Queen won by East with the Ace. Now all his hard work pays dividends and he was able to claim the rest.

He had made 3 spades, 2 Hearts, 1 Diamond and 2 clubs for a joint Match point score losing 1 Spade, 2 Diamonds and 2 clubs only.
