Playing Match Point Pairs where every overtrick is vital can you bring in 13 tricks on this hand (and possibly regret not being in a slam) ?
Do you take the Spade finesse and risk turning "WINE INTO WATER" At the moment you have no Spade losers so why take a finesse with the possibility of creating a loser where there wasn't one.
In order to make a lot of tricks here a) you will have to establish the spades b) you will have to hope the Spade king comes down in three rounds without any finessing.
So after winning the first trick immediately play Ace of Spades and trump a Spade.
Now come back to your hand via the Club Ace in order to trump another Spade. When the King falls you are now well and truly on the way to making all 13 tricks. Cash the Heart King and re-enter your hand with a Club ruff (just in case West led a singleton Diamond. Now draw the remaining three trumps pleased to see everybody follow. The remaining tricks are all yours. You have made 5 trumps (from the long hand)1 Spade, two spades ruffed in dummy, the short hand, 2 established Spades 2 Diamonds and 1 club .
