After winning the first trick in dummy hand, laydown the Trump King keeping the AJ in hand as possible tenace if the trumps break badly and you can still finesse East should East hold all three. The trumps broke badly but the wrong side and now you have a trump loser that you cannot avoid. What to do now with a club loser staring at you?Here was only on way left and that would have to be with an endplay against West.
This would only be possible if West started with hopefully 2 clubs.
You now draw a second round of trumps, leaving the Queen out and proceeded to create a scenario where you can throw West in with a trump.
You play the Ace of Diamonds and trump a Diamond. Now Diamonds are eliminated from both hands. you then cash two top clubs and at this point pray that West started life with only two Clubs.
You now play a trump endplaying West. Your prayers are answered and with West on lead he can only give a ruff and discard as he only has red suits left..
