On our hand this week we must not lose control of the trump suit and we must trump clubs in the dummy twice
West leads a neutral Heart trying not to give anything away.
In order to trump two clubs in dummy we will have to “have two trumps in dummy”. We will also need to establish the 13th Heart for a discard.
If we were to immediately draw two rounds of trumps and then stop and then play a club the defender who gets in would play a trump and then there would be only one trump left for ruffing losing clubs.
Our first task must be to play ace and another club and the opponents continue their Heart attack.
We win and now draw two rounds of trumps only and the opponents can have their winner whenever they like.
We now play off hearts trumping a Heart and establishing the 13th Heart (the Hearts broke4:2 as expected)
We can then ruff our two clubs.
While this is going on the opponent with the last trump does not over-ruff as he hopes to get in to draw two trumps for one of his.
Fortunately for us, West has the missing Diamond Ace and East never gets in to do this.
We make 2 trumps 3 Hearts 1 Club, 1 established Heart. and 3 ruffs.
