This was not the most exciting or fascinating auction in the world but South landed in 2¨. Well when I watched this hand declarer managed to get in a muddle and go one down instead of making two overtricks.

On the third round of Hearts all declarer has to do is ruff with the ¨9. This brings the 10 from West.

West gets off lead with a club (the Queen) hoping partner has the Ace but its not to be .

Now the rest of then hand (as the cards lie) should be plain sailing.

Win the club and play two rounds of trumps which see them fall 22.

Play off three round of Spades ruffing the last one in dummy.

Now take the winning club and the rest of the trumps.

You will make 4 trumps from the long hand (South)
