Playing Match point pairs it is vital to maximize your tricks and not let declarer make any unnecessary overtricks.
If you are lazy here you could easily let declarer make 12 tricks.
After winning the first trick you see declarer follow suit with the Queen and should know its futile to play a second Heart trick. Also you can see the potential in dummy from all those lovely Diamonds on which declarer could dispose of all his potential losers. Therefore with this in mind at trick two you MUST SWITCH to Clubs and hope partner has values in this, “the last resort,” suit. Partner turns up with the two top Clubs and now you take two more defensive tricks and hold declarer to a well above Match Point score for not letting any overtricks through.
