After taking the first two Diamonds West switches to a Spade. You take stock. You still have a club loser, so in order to make the contract “the trump finesse has to work”. So you win the trick with dummy’s queen and take the first trump finesse which wins. You now play the Club Queen overtaking with dummy’s King. East wins and persists with another Spade which you win. You now enter dummy with the Club Jack and take a second trump finesse which is still working (West had not ducked with his singleton J).

Now you plonk down the trumps Ace and claim.

You have made 3 Spades, 6 Hearts and 1 Club.
