This hand is all about being observant and noticing which pips have gone in Clubs.

West leads the Club Ten and after trying dummy’s Jack this is beaten by East’s Queen.

It looks like the defenders have led from shortage looking for a ruff but you still need to get to dummy and the Club Ace is your only entry. When you play a low club up pops the 9 and now all your clubs are promoted. Once in dummy you take the trump finesse which works followed by a second trump and th suit breask kindly 3:2. This is the last time you will be in dummy so now take the Heart finesse. You lead a low on from dummy and when East playslow you try that 10 which brings the Ace from West. Its no all over bar the shouting , you are losing losing just the one trump out that is higher than all yours.

You made 5 trumps, 2 Hearts and 4 Clubs for a very good Match point score and not one of those lovely Diamonds that were on table.
