On our hand this week, very surprisingly South turns up with a positive bid after partner opens  2 and without any science at all North propels him to 6ª after he introduces his second suit.

West leads the King of Clubs and you take stock and think there is no problem unless trumps break badly off side.

After winning the first trick you cash a top Spade and see the 10 appear from East. If this 10 is singleton then you will a) need to finesse West's remaining Spade and also need to rely on opposition making a slight  mistake by not  splitting his  honours. (most of the time it would be wrong to split the honours giving declarer a chance to finesse again).

You ruff a Club and cash two top Hearts and now casually play a low Spade hoping West plays low which he does and you insert the 8. The 8 holds and now you are home as you cash one more top Spade before embarking on the Diamonds. West can have his winning Spade any time he likes.

(NB Had West split his honours then West can take the third Spade and now force declarer by playing clubs and now declarer will go down, as he will not be able to draw the last trump.)
