This Hand is all about establishing your
second suit after drawing just two rounds of trumps. Since the Hearts break well
(3;3) the hand will play itself. After taking the first trick, you draw
two rounds of trumps, finishing in your hand, leaving the master Queen out. (NB
you do not want to use up two trumps to their one winner- Rule of 1).
You then proceed to take the Heart
finesse which succeeds. You now ruff a Heart delighted to see the 3:3 break. You
now re-enter dummy with a top Diamond to dump the your third Diamond (loser) on
dummy’s now established Hearts. East ruffs and the defence take their Club trick
but you can now claim with dummy being high with one winning Heart and two
trumps. You have won 3 trumps, 4 Hearts 2 Diamonds, 1 Heart ruffed and 1 Diamond
ruffed. You can also view
