What do you do now ? Stay Passive or Get
Active. Well you can see there is great source of trick on the table for
declarer to chuck all his losers (Diamonds). You know there is no future in playing
another Diamond and there is the Club Ace in the dummy Therefore if you are going to get more
than 1 trick now is the time to act. You must lay down your Spade Ace and see
if partner encourages. Partner duly encourages and you now take
three defensive tricks for an above average Match Point score. Most of the Lazy
Wests will let 12 tricks through (6 Hearts, 5 Diamonds and Club Ace)
