This hand is relatively easy as long as you are observant and watch ”all” the cards.

At trick 1 the Spade Ace is led and you should immediately know you can set up a spade trick because you have QJ1098 between the two hands.

So after winning the second trick, draw trumps and then go back to Spades. West can take his King but now you get rid of your Diamond loser on the third round of Spades.

 You make 7 Hearts, 1 Spade and 2 Minor suit Aces.

(NB Had West led a Minor suit then EW would have the timing to set up 4 tricks but do you blame West for not leading a Minor but preferring to lead his Spade Ace and having a look?)
