winners. If you go after the Spades you need the spades to be 33 with the ªQ
onside, and even if this were the case, you don’t have entry back to dummy. So
your only hope is to go after your longest suit – Diamonds. As long as the
Diamonds either break 22 or when they do break 3:1 that the singleton might be
singleton honour with East you will meet with success. Win the first trick and
immediately play Ace and another Diamond. Although the Diamonds broke badly you
get lucky with East having a singleton Queen. Now you bring home 2 Spades, 2
Hearts, 4 Diamonds and 1 club.
