After East responds 3NT it appears that East must have at lease two of the remaining Kings.

After winning the second trick with dummy's Ace (and not risking a "stupid " finesse) you now play a top spade hoping the suit breaks 2:2. However West the pre-emptor follows with the Trump Queen.

What do you make of that?

 Is he bluffing.

 Firstly East tried 3NT so East is likely to have three now to the Jack.

 Secondly. the guideline of restricted choice is a factor. When One opponent (here West ) follows suit with an honour then it is now twice as likely that the adjacent honour is in the other defender's hand. We therefore will now enter dummy with the club King and run the ♠ 10 finessing East for the remaining Jack. The finesse works and after drawing the last trump we now just concede a club trick and then make the rest.

We won 6 trumps 4 Clubs and 1 Heart. losing just 1 Diamond and 1 Club for a well played hand.
