3NT In truth this contract should never make as the
opponents can take 5 Spades and the Diamond Ace. However you need to conceal your assets (so much easier
for women J ) You have eight tricks on top -4 clubs and 4 Hearts, so
win the first trick in hand (or dummy) and immediately play a low diamond
towards the other hand. If second person has the Ace he is very unlikely to go
in with it immediately and if the King holds you have your 9 tricks. If second person does play the Ace leading a Spade from
his AQ holding might also put him off switching to a Spade at that point. NB If you cash all your Club and Heart winners first and
do not conceal your assets I am sure the opposition will now find their 5 tricks
and switch to a Spade when they get in with the Diamond Ace. At trick two that
is much more difficult.
