Match Point Pairs what lead do you make after the above auction ?
Having
listened to the auction, declarer is known to hold a huge two suiter. Declarer
is looking for Heart controls and is certain to have at least one Heart loser
(if not 2). So your Ace of Hearts should be on the table to secure a top Match
Point score of holding the contract to 10 tricks. Any other lead and declarer
romps home with 11 tricks. In this year’s National pairs Semi Finals I was the
unfortunate South and my right hand opponent who was no passive leader, had the
Ace of Hearts on the table almost before the auction was over. Perhaps I should
have just bid 4ª
over responders 2ª
rebid !!
