Having escaped a Club lead can you now possibly make all 13 tricks?
Those Hearts in dummy are a wonderful source of tricks as long as you can get back to dummy.
Initially you have 11 top tricks by way of 9 Diamonds and 2 top Hearts so you need to get those Hearts going immediately.
After winning the first trick play Ace and another Heart, trumping in hand with the Diamond king just in case West had no Hearts.
Now enter dummy with the Ace of trumps delighted to see the trumps break 1-1.
Now ruff another Heart and now the Hearts are established and you can go over to the ¨9 entry and cash out the top Hearts.
You now make 9 Diamonds, 2 Hearts and 2 established Hearts.
Pity West didn’t read a better bridge book or have a better teacher and had led the Club Ace and at least have a look at the dummy.
(NB the pre-emptive 5¨ bid kept them out of 4ª and your pre-empt in fact made.)
