After the lead and the diamond continuation you count your winners (without doing any work) and you have 4 Spades, 1 Heart 2 Diamonds (now) and 1 Club. You will need to generate one xtar tricks to get home. And it looks like the club finesse can produce the 9th tricks. As you have very good control of all suits at the moment it cannot cost to lay down the Club Ace preparing to lead up to the Queen later. (still a finesse).
When you cash the club ace you get a very pleasant surprize - the King falls. Now your 9 tricks are in the bag and you cash out. If the opponents don’t unblock their suits you might even get a second club trick if East is left on lead at the end with a lower club than yours.
