Are
you a finesser ? Are you a dropper ? If you do finesse which way do you finesse

This
hand comes from the OK Bridge website and produced an amazing array of results
with most playing and getting home in the small slam, whilst some of those who
ventured onto the grand slam
got home, with most going one off.
With
9 cards they say NINE NEVER- if you use that here and play for the drop and
refuse the finesse then you go down like the Majority did. If, however, you have
listened to the bidding you might notice that East
opened a preempt which alters the odds of the
clubs breaking 22. If you now take this on board and assume that the pre-empter
is likely to have a singleton, a likely singleton could be in Clubs. Now
you will get home if you play off the Club King (incase East’s Singleton is
the Queen itself) first then
run the 10.
