This hand originally came up at supervised play and after a club lead my students went one off. Without a club lead the hand can make because you have enough time to establish a Diamond trick. Although the Diamonds broke 4:2 the doubleton was one of the missing honours and the Diamond Ten would become high losing just one Diamond.

BUT, Could 6NT be made with the Club King Lead ? 

I then  explained to them that if they ducked the first trick it would rectify the count, Because West had four Diamonds and three clubs after four rounds of Spades followed by four rounds of  Hearts, West was truly “stuffed” and could not hold both Minors and the slam came in. The group were truly mesmerised- so was I !!
