Having escaped a Diamond or Club lead when you would automatically lose 3 tricks straight away you will now have to play the hand carefully so as not to lose three diamond tricks late on.

After winning the first trick draw trumps in two rounds.

Now play two more top Spades in hand before entering dummy with a trump in order to play last spade to dump that club loser.

With East having overcalled 1♦ it is reasonable to suggest he has both the Ace and Queen of Diamonds. So now just play a diamond from dummy towards your Jack and you will obtain the 1 Diamond trick you need to bring your total to 11 tricks. You make 4 Spades, 6 Hearts and 1 Diamond and you didn't trump anything !!

(NB If you are too clever here and play the Diamond Jack from hand you will then lose 3 Diamond tricks to East's Ace Queen and Ten, Perhaps East should not have bid Spades during the auction UGH L A diamond lead would have seen the contract go down immediately with 2 diamond losers 1 Diamond ruffed and the Club Ace for the defence).
