End

The opponents play two top clubs and you ruff the second club.

The first thing to consider is how to play the

Win the second club by ruffing. With everybody bidding the Hearts are likely to be breaking badly and then finesse seems to offer better chances than playing for the drop (we don't always go with 8 ever 9 never if there are extenuating circumstances.

So play Ace of trumps and then finesse the Jack in dummy pleased to see East show out and pleased that you have decided to finesse instead of playing for the drop.

You are now in dummy for last time - do you finesse Diamonds and hope East has doubleton Ace or do you finesse Spades playing East for the Ace. There is little point in playing East for the Spade Ace as you will not be able to get back to dummy to finesse a second time.

With this in mind play a diamond from dummy and watch as East plays the Jack. You play the King and another Diamond and play low from dummy. As you hoped East does have a doubleton Ace and now his Ace falls on air.

He plays back another Club a nd you now trump with your last trump.

Go over to dummy's Diamond Queen and finesse up to your KQ of spades. West wins

You will get one more Spade and one more trump and bring home 9 tricks by way of

1 Spade, 4 trumps, 2 Diamonds and 2 club ruffs in the long hand..
