The main danger of this hand is letting
East in who may then put a club through and you could lose up to 4 tricks- Heart
Ace, 2 Clubs and a losing Spade finesse. However with the 2 level overcall East is
unlikely to have the Heart Ace so at trick two you need to dislodge the Heart
Ace (and do not attempt to play three rounds of Diamonds). West takes his Ace of
trumps and plays a second Diamond . Now you can draw trumps and play a third
round of Diamonds chucking a Club from dummy. This means the threat of two club
losers goes away and you can now take the Spade finesse. Although it loses the
defence can take just one more club. You have made 4 trumps, 3 Diamonds 2
Spades and 1 Club ruffed in dummy, losing just 2 Aces and a Spade. You can also view
