 When this hand was played against me first South went into Blackwood with a void which is not best practice and then proceeded to mess up the play.

Initially you have a count of 7 winners from two trumps, 2 Hearts 2 Diamonds and 1 Club.

On the losers front you seem to have just a possible trump loser.

How do you generate the extra tricks? You will need to get your second suit going and hope that Diamonds break no worse than 4-2, and generate the extra tricks from Diamonds and also from ruffing two Diamonds

With all this in mind, you should win the first trick chucking a losing Club from hand. Unblock the Diamond King and draw two rounds of trumps ending in hand so you can establish the Diamonds. You can ruff a Diamond. Then play second top Heart to dispose of  the Club loser before coming to hand with the Club Ace to now play on Diamonds, and East can have his Queen of trumps whenever he likes.

You will eventually make your 12 tricks from 2 trumps, 2 Hearts, 2 Diamonds, 2 Diamonds ruffed in dummy, 2 established Diamonds 1 Club and 1 more trump.
