 When this hand was played against me for some unknown reason my esteemed opponents managed to go down.

She tried the Ten at trick 1 and it held. We can now presume that West has led way from the trump king. Winning with dummy’s 10 is an illusion. You need to overtake the 10 with the Jack in order to be in the correct hand to repeat the finesse without wasting entries to get back to hand.

Now you are in hand you take a second successful   trump finesse pleased to see the trumps breaking 3;2

With two entries to dummy( overtaking the Spade Queen if needs be) you can now finesse Diamonds with West winning the King and East’s Ten falling. Whatever West now plays back you are home and dry.

You eventually make 2 spades, 5 Hearts and five Diamonds and even have the luxury of chucking your top club on an established Diamond.
