 Once you have taken the chance to bid 6ª are you up to the task of generating 12 tricks?

Well, more than one line will work on this hand.

You can try to establish dummy’s Hearts but from West’s double, it seems the Hearts will all be with West and bringing down the Ace in three rounds seems a long way off.

Or you can play on a complete cross ruff hoping to get 1 heart.2 clubs, 1 Diamond and 5 trumps from the long hand and 3 Diamond  ruffs, in dummy the short hand.

As soon as the opponents see that you are not drawing trumps they should switch to trumps.

With all this in mind you play a Heart at trick 2, putting West to the test. which West ducks. After winning the King. ruff a Heart noting the fall of the Jack. Continue to cross ruff Diamonds and Hearts. When the Ace falls. You can draw one round of trumps only playing West for just one trump (from his original  take-out double) and then dump a club loser on the established Heart (NB if west did in fact have another trump then you have exchanged a club loser for a trump loser never putting your contract into jeopardy.  and now you bring home 13 tricks by way off  2 Clubs. 1 Diamond 2 Hearts and in fact 8 cross ruffs.

If West doesn’t duck trick two but takes his Ace and switches to Trump now you make 2 Clubs, 1 Diamond, 2 Hearts and seven cross ruffs instead.
