plan your play.
On
this hand you will need to take two vital finesses, both of which are likely to
work on the bidding. From East’s Opening bid he is likely to have most of the
outstanding High Card Points, including the Heart King and probably, both the
Club Ace and Club king.
You
only have two entries to dummy
so they must each be utilized carefully.
After
winning the First trick with dummy’s Ace take the Heart finesse.
Now you can start to draw trumps. East will get in with the Ace and play
another Diamond. You are now on the table for the “last time” and therefore
you have to take this vital Club finesse up to your Jack. If you do not do it
now you will eventually lose three club tricks as well as the Trump Ace
and go one down.
You
will make, 5 Trumps, 2 Hearts, 2 Diamonds and 1 Club.
