This hand originally was published in The Times and I was fascinated by the con pulled by West, the defender, which could only be pulled against another expert.
West led the Heart Ace and then switched to his singleton §9
When declarer now played the Ace of trump West calmly followed suit with the ªJack which now give declarer a chance to go wrong. Knowing about the Theory of restricted choice, declarer decided that East must have the Spade Queen starting off with Q94. So without much ado he now played a low club to dummy’s Queen (His only possible entry) and much to his chagrin, West now ruffed with his last trump.
Well played West- Give declarer enough rope……
