4NT = RKC Blackwood
5♥ = 2 Key Cards
Although North does not have a great quality Diamonds suit, on balance. 3¨ rebid is better than 3NT which really rules out any Spade fit.
The only non forcing bids after this sequence are No Bid and 3NT, so when partner responder rebids 3ª this is forward going.
4ª confirms 3 card support and now South bids on to the small slam in Spades
The Heart Jack is led and declarer takes stock. Nice easy hand- no club losers, No Diamond losers and the Heart loser can be despatched onto second High Diamond. And, of course there is the drawing of trumps and the trump finesse to be considered.. If you start to deal with trumps immediately then the nasty opposition will cash a winning Heart trick so its the order of play that is important.
Win the first trick in dummy with the king- no silly finesses of the Queen at trick 1.
Now enter hand with the Diamond Ace. A club back to dummy’s Ace and quickly chuck away your Heart Queen.
Now there is the matter of the Club loser being ruffed with one of dummy’s trumps.
Play a Club to the Ace and trump a club. You are now in dummy. You will now trump a Heart back to hand to take the Spade finesse at the 11th hour.
You play a low spade towards your Jack and when West shows out (no winning finesse here) you go up with the Ace and play the Spade Jack. East can have his King and you can have the rest.
You made 1 Club 2 Diamonds.1 Club ruffed 1 Heart ruffed and just 6 trumps from the long hand.
