This hand is very
similar to last week’s hand in the fact that you do not really need to ruff
anything after the lead apart from the first trick. With West leading the
Ace of Diamonds West ios marked with the King too. So we merely draw trumps and
lead a top Diamond and throw a Heart away. Now the two Diamonds in dummy will
take care of the other Heart losers. With care you should make 5Spades. 1 Heart,
1 Diamond ruffed (in the long hand) 2 established Diamonds and 3 clubs. (NB If West had led a Heart then the contract would of
course go down but who can blame West for leading a Diamond ?) You can also view
watch the following movie to see how the hand pans out. (You need bridgvu.exe
programme or BridgeBase programme on your machine already to view it ) and
it is available free from
http://www.haroldschogger.com/videos.htm alternatively watch the film
